While in Pakistan during November 2023, we planned a visit to Pakistan/India border. The border is located at about one hours drive from Lahore. The main attraction there is when national flags of both the countries are hoisted in the morning and lowered in the evening. A ceremony repeated twice a day, every day. A fence with a huge gate afixed marks the division of each territory, One can watch all across the gate from both the sides. There is a stadium-like seating arrangements on both the sides where people watch the ceremony. Giant guards parade raising their hands and legs as high as possible perhaps showing strength and conveying a message to their neighbors. The same routine is being followed for so many years. These guards are huge and picked-up from some particular area in Pakistan where people are so well built.
